Savannah Rhythm Sleeper-Wood Bar

The front of Savannah Rhythm unfolds as a lively painted scene. Dancers in bright dresses surround musicians and their drums, with acacia silhouettes and a glowing yellow sun behind them. Orange, red, turquoise, green and yellow bring movement to the timber panels, while the darker lower edge gives the composition depth. The scene continues around the right-hand return, rewarding a closer look from different angles.

Only Mpofu painted the bar by hand, giving a practical piece of furniture the presence of a large artwork. The geometric decoration across the overhead frame echoes the colour of the figures below. Two timber uprights connect that upper element to the counter, framing the open space and keeping the whole composition visually connected.

The bar is made from solid sleeper wood and is very heavy. Its substantial counter, visible plank construction and dark lower foot rail give it a grounded character. The timber grain, joints and existing surface marks remain part of the piece; they sit alongside the brushwork rather than disappearing beneath a uniform factory finish.

Picture Savannah Rhythm welcoming guests at a hotel or lodge reception, serving drinks in a restaurant, or bringing its painted musicians into a live-music bar. Position it close and parallel to a wall, leaving a working aisle behind for staff. A quiet wall finish lets the hand-painted scenes remain the focus. The listing includes the bar and its matching overhead frame; delivery is quoted separately.
