Colour Grove Chest of Drawers

A small grove grows across the middle of the chest, its rounded trees lifted on slender white trunks. The painted shapes continue over the drawer divisions, creating a landscape that holds together when the fronts are closed. Only Mpofu places blue, green and pink forms against a shifting blue background, with warmer colour appearing beneath the trees.

Above the grove, the upper drawers carry bright geometric blocks, while a blue top and coral-toned lower section give the composition clear boundaries. Dark metal ring handles bring small circular accents to the painted fronts. Visible brush texture connects these different sections, keeping the chest's colour expressive rather than making it look like a flat, printed surface.

For a bedroom or living-space idea, try a quiet wall and a few accents drawn from the blue top or green trees. Simple furniture nearby could let the painted grove become the room's main scene. Six drawers offer storage for everyday belongings, making this a piece to use regularly as well as a landscape that remains visible between those practical moments.
