Teak Root Glass Dining Table

The Teak Root Glass Dining Table preserves the connection between a tree's root and the continuation of its trunk. Rather than assembling identical legs, the design works with a single organic formation whose curves and character were shaped by nature. Solid teak gives the base its natural material presence beneath the glass.

The wood comes from a fallen tree and has been given a new purpose through Artessy's craftsmanship. Its salvaged origin is part of the piece's story, alongside the studio's interest in using recovered natural materials. The root's individual form remains visible, carrying the character of the tree into a new setting.

Clear glass creates a practical dining surface while leaving the sculptural wood in view. The contrast gives the table both raw character and a contemporary clarity. The root evokes grounding, stability and strength, themes that can be read in its broad, earthbound form and the movement of the trunk.

Before becoming furniture, the root belonged to the land and supported the tree above it. Bringing that form into a dining space changes its purpose while preserving a visible relationship with nature. The piece offers a place to slow down together, with the tree's character present beneath every shared meal.

The table accommodates six people, making shared meals central to its purpose. Consider it in a home dining room, a lodge or a villa interior where the base can be appreciated from more than one side. Restrained chairs and a quieter surrounding palette could keep the recovered teak as the focus of the setting.
